Roseann Bennett And World Autism Awareness Day

Roseann Bennett is a highly-qualified licensed therapist who did her training at Seton Hall University. She is the Co-Founder and the Executive Director of the Center for Assessment and Treatment located in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

Recently, Ms. Bennett wrote a piece in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day. In this piece, Ms. Bennett looks at the problem of autism and the correct ways to deal with autism.

The first point that Roseann Bennett makes in her piece is that each person’s autism is unique. Just because an individual has noticed a certain pattern of behaviors in someone with autism doesn’t mean that that same pattern of behaviors will be expressed by every person who has a diagnosis of autism. Ms. Bennett points out that some people are what are known as high-functioning people with autism. It is harder to distinguish that some high-functioning people are autistic at all. Others have many symptoms that make it harder for them to interact with others making their autism more conspicuous.

Roseann Bennett is quick to point out that parents should not think that they are bad parents because they have a child who is autistic. In the past, bad parenting practices were blamed for the occurrence of autism in general. Now, there are other possible factors that are thought to be among the causes of autism.

According to Ms. Bennett, it is important to receive a diagnosis of autism as quickly as possible if one has an autistic child. An early diagnosis lets the child access the help that the child needs so that that child can receive therapy and behavioral help as needed. See This Page to learn more.

Finally, Roseann Bennett points out in her piece that all people need to remember that children with autism are still children. They still have the needs that all children have. They have the possibility to grow up and lead productive and happy lives as do all children.
