As a child, Anthony Constantinou would use statistics, logistics, and reason to solve everyday problems, forming a strong foundation for his career in artificial intelligence and Bayesian Networks. He started his academic career at the University of Hertfordshire with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence. This led straight to his PhD in Bayesian Networks from the University of London.
Currently, he works for Queen Mary University of London as a lecturer of Bayesian Networks and oversees undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students. Constantinou also collaborates with businesses and world organizations using Bayesian Networks to better understand the decision making process. This process looks at an outcome and determines the probability that a specific event caused the outcome. This allows a decision maker to closely examine the relationship between the cause and the outcome and determine the best course of action for the future. Over the last few years, he has worked with sports betting companies as well as governments, studying risk management and decision-making. Refer to This Article for additional information.
Throughout the course of Anthony Constantinou’s work, he has published numerous papers and reviewed articles for academics and research journals. The EPSRC UKRI Innovation Fellowship project named him a Principal, and last year he was chosen as a presenter at the BRITAIN research exhibition in front of all the members of British Parliament. In fact, he is so well regarded in his field, even at the young age of 35 years, that the Alan Turing Institute named him a “Turing Fellow” earlier this year.
In the future, Anthony Constantinou plans to continue teaching and inspiring the next generation as well as focusing his research on Artificial Intelligence by developing models and entering competitions across the world. With all he has accomplished in the past surely great things are in the future.
