The National Steel Car has been operating for more than 100 years, and the ownership of the company changes from time to time. In its 100-year history, the National Steel Car has been managed by different individuals, but there are only three prominent owners which left a mark on the company’s performance. These are the founders of the company, Dofasco, and Gregory James Aziz.
In 1912, rich investors in the city of Hamilton, Ontario decided to establish a company that would benefit from the construction of the Trans-Canadian Railways. They decided to put up a rolling stock manufacturing firm, which will enable them to construct and deliver train cars to Canadian rail transport companies and other private businesses. The founders of the National Steel Car are the ones who pushed the company into its golden era during the 1920s, but they are also the ones who managed the company in the times of crisis during the 1930s and the global wars of the 1940s. The founders of the National Steel Car have shown their resilience during the time of crisis, and they are instrumental in forming the foundations of the company.
Dominion Foundries and Steel
Dominion Foundries and Steel, or Dofasco for short, is a Canadian steel manufacturing company. They purchased the National Steel Car in 1962, and the company stayed with them until 1994. During this period, the National Steel Car experienced minimal growth, and they faced another crisis during the 1980s to the 1990s decade. The rolling stock manufacturing industry crashed, and this prompted Dofasco to sell them. Refer to This Article to learn more.
Gregory James Aziz
Gregory James Aziz is a financial entrepreneur who purchased the National Steel Car from Dofasco in 1994. After graduating from the university, he worked at his parent’s food delivery business, and helped their family business grow. He decided to work for the financial world after spending some time at their family business, and this is where he managed to build up his fortune. Today, Gregory J Aziz is showing how a true leader should act. He retained the employees of the National Steel Car who were hired by Dofasco, and he even employed an additional 2,500 work force to help increase the production capacity of the company from 3,500 rolling stocks produced every year to an astounding 12,500 rolling stocks manufactured annually. Gregory J Aziz continues to gain recognition from award giving bodies for his success.
